Head Injuries/Traumatic Brain Injury

We provide intervention for post-concussive disorder/mild traumatic brain injury: These injuries can happen in a number of different forums, from sports-induced injuries to slips on the ice. Concussion can be a serious consequence of these accidents. Initial symptoms of a concussion include: headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, insomnia, or sensitivity to light. For most, the symptoms tend to remit within a few months; for others, symptoms can persist for some time. Learning and Language Specialists provides neuropsychological testing to help assess and quantify what deficits an individual may be experiencing. Therapeutic support through Cognitive Strategy Training is also available. In addition, testing can help students/athletes with the decision to return to playing a sport.
